Research & Development
I created Petshka out of a sense of urgency and responsibility. As the founder of Duo Display, a large format polyester textile printing company for visual merchandising. I'd been searching for a way to recycle our polyester textile waste without success. The staggering fact that over 100,000 tons of polyester waste are buried or incinerated every year in Europe and North America alone was a wake-up call.
A chance meeting with a CNRS Research Director, Sylvain Caillol, was the catalyst for this journey. We connected the dots between polyester recycling and industry's need for recycled components to manufacture polyuréthane foam.
Our team worked tirelessly to develop a proprietary technology that could efficiently recycle polyester waste into high-quality polyol. After five years of research, we've finally found a solution.
We've already secured collection agreements for polyester deposits in Europe, with first productions kicking off in 2024!Next up, we'll be expanding operations to North America by 2025.Meanwhile, our team of PhD chemists continues to drive innovation, with some exciting developments in the pipeline set to launch next year.
